Falmouth vets recognised for outstanding work
A veterinary practice in Falmouth has achieved seven prestigious national awards, from the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS), the profession’s UK governing body.
It is one of the only veterinary practices in the UK to receive the ‘outstanding’ accreditations for exceptional standards in all areas.
Rosemullion Veterinary Hospital received the awards for its hard work and dedication in; patient consultation service, diagnostic service, emergency and critical care service, in-patient service, client service, team, professional responsibilities earlier this year and has now received the newly introduced environmental sustainability award.
Launched in 2015, the RCVS Practice Standards Awards is a voluntary scheme, enabling vets to accredit their practices in a range of specific areas. It is done via a thorough external inspection and assessment by an inspector from the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons which normally lasts two days. The practice is awarded points against set criteria and the number of points accumulated determines if they achieve a ‘good’ or ‘outstanding’ rating. It is very unusual for a practice to apply for so many awards and only a tiny minority will gain all seven awards.
Victoria Musk, Head Veterinary Nurse at Rosemullion Vets, said:
“We’re extremely proud of our seventy-five colleagues to be one of the first and only practices to attain all seven RCVS ‘outstanding’ awards. It’s an incredible achievement.
“Our practice has worked really hard to reach and maintain the highest standards - to give the patients the level of treatment they deserve. In addition, we try to create a supportive team culture within the practice to make it a great place to work. We are thrilled that all our hard work - over many months and years - has now been recognised as ‘outstanding’ by the RCVS.”
