Our Research

Driving change through the generation of new knowledge.

We understand the importance of the clinical research to generate new evidence to support us in providing the best care. We deliver welfare-centred research, by ensuring research is clinically important to animals, their owners and the profession, and has been approved by our ethical review committee.

Funding research

We are proud to offer funding to colleagues and academics for veterinary clinical research that aims to benefit the animals under veterinary care, and research that supports the veterinary profession in providing the best possible care to animals.

Our clinical research grant funding is unique in the industry. All of our funded research has a direct clinical benefit and will impact upon veterinary practice. It covers a range of conditions we see every day.

Current research projects

Our Collaborations

CVS partners with many universities and research institutes on projects that drive new knowledge for the veterinary profession.

We collaborate with the University of Liverpool and their Small Animal Veterinary Surveillance Network (SAVSNET) to support research relating to pet animal health.

Examples of recent projects with SAVSNET include research to help vets make better decisions around their antibiotic use and investigations into outbreaks of vomiting and diarrhoea in dogs.

To learn more about our current research, please see our latest issue of our Advances Research Report.
