We have industry leading LED, multiple sites and facilities for on-the-job training, and a network of experienced colleagues offering support.
- An in-house team develop our LED, with 60% of courses delivered internally.
- We offer leading clinical CPD, enabling our teams to recommend up-to-date evidence-based treatment.
- Our national network of Regional Clinical Leads teach first opinion practices advanced diagnostics and techniques and mentor vets in specific disciplines.
- CVS’ CVTC nurse further education college is one of the UK’s top nursing schools, with above national first time pass rates and an OFSTED good rating.
- Our range of clinical improvement projects offer a framework to achieve outstanding patient care in general practice - including clinical learning and support materials.
- CVS’ Knowledge Hub educational platform offers over 700 courses covering a wide range of clinical and non-clinical training. Many of our courses are run by our specialists.
- We have created 14 hubs for one-stop-shop learning, including: Leadership, Clinical Improvement, Client Care, Nursing, PCA and New Graduate.
- BSAVA’s full library of veterinary resources - covering the spectrum of small animal veterinary practice - is offered free to our colleagues.
- For those enrolling on a CertAVP or PgCert, we cover course tuition, up to 3 exam fees and RCVS library fees, plus 2-weeks study leave.
- Accredited leadership and management development programmes are offered to colleagues through all stages of their career.
- CVS’ new graduate programme is industry leading. It supports vets’ first 2 years with an induction, clinical and professional courses, electives opportunities and career support. Graduate Development Advisers provide in-practice support and Pastoral Support Vets support graduate wellbeing.
- We partner with universities to help train the next generation of vets. We provide lectures, host extramural studies and intramural rotations, and collaborate in postgraduate training of residents - including research projects.
- Our student nurse induction programme is industry leading. RVN’s are trained via CVS’ MiNurse Academy e-learning platform, providing a year of CPD through online and distance learning. Every nurse is allocated a clinical supervisor.
- We run an award-winning apprenticeship programme. We have at least 450 active apprentices at any one time, enrolled onto carefully matched programmes - ranging from a level 2 to a level 7 degree.
